Carpentersville, IL is a village in Kane County, Illinois, United States. The population was 37,691 at the 2010 census. Carpentersville is located approximately 40 miles (64 km) northwest of Chicago. Carpentersville is part of the Chicago metropolitan area and is considered a suburb. Carpentersville shares borders with East and West Dundee, Sleepy Hollow, Algonquin, Hoffman Estates, and Bartlett. Carpentersville is also known for its large Finnish-American population; the Carpentersville Finnish American Heritage Center is located in the village.
